Provided by YP.comCarolina East Medical Center was wonderful to my husband and myself as well..If any of you have been in Onslow Memorial before, you would definitely think twice before saying any of the things bad about Carolina East. There is no perfect place to be I know,But when you go to a hospital to be treated especially when your body has no signs of life at all.And there is no Neurologist at all in the town .You will be glad to go to Carolina East.My husband was completely gone,no pluse,no breath,NOTHING for 8 days. Can you even imagine what was going through my mind.I was scared to death. And don't ever say you wish you were dead. You don't even know what you are sayng until it hits you.My husband was gone and he come back to me and still don't remember anything .What was holding him here was a breathing machine, and the MIGHTY HAND OF GOD and all of the FRIENDS THAT WERE HELPING US PRAY !!!. So we got out of Onslow and I took him to Carolina East, they met us to the car ,with a wheel chair, helped him out got all of his stuff out and took him straight to the ER room started test on him right then. This was not our first trip here either.Back in 1983 my husband had another bad experience of seizures. And I brought him here. And they were wonderful. The nurses were great and the staff and Drs. were all very great.Thank each and everyone of you for being there for my husband.Yall are wonderful...

Provided by YPmobileHorrible doctors as well as nurses. Dismissed any concerns. After a week of being there 2 daya later went to Carteret with 3 abcesses in my abdomen and nearly died. I tried telling the surgery staff but they're just horrible. Carteret did emer. surgery again and saved my life. The surgical drs. Bates and ballard should not be allowed to practice medicine. Dr. Drury in Morehead City saved my life. Stay away from Carolina East in New Bern!!!! Your life depends on it

Provided by YP.comI arrived via ambulance at the ER on 6/15/10 due to a double herniated disk in my lower spine that was compressing against my sciatic nerve and causing some of the most extreme pain I have ever felt in my life. Before even being evaluated a nurse told the paramedic to "just put him in a wheel chair and tale him to urgent care". At this point I was in tears of to the pain. The medic explained my dire situation and they moved me to a bed. A Doctor came in an conducted a courtesy evaluation and ordered some pain meds to relive the extreme spasms in my back. The medication took effect quickly to the point I finely was able to doze off into a semi sleep before falling out bed and crashing onto the floor because they staff neglected to put my bed rails up for safety and standard protocol. Needless to say I further injured by back , but left wrist and right hip. All had marked bruises the next day and were swollen. The attending doctor came in and said “Ooh, I heard took a spill are you Ok?” He didn’t conduct any further evaluation and basically blew then entire event off as if were no big deal. The following day I was in more pain than previously, I had contusions on both arms and my right leg I(which I took pictures of) and my pack pain has been so severe I can’t stand up, I have to craw on my hands and knees to the bathroom . This entire event associated with Carolina East has been a nightmare!
