My name is Peter Critchley, and I am a Piano Technician specializing in in-home service in Knoxville, Maryville and much of eastern Tennessee to include Knox, Blount and Sevier Counties. The standard fee for a tuning is 60 dollars; however, if it is the case that the piano has not been tuned for a few years, then the piano may also require a pitch correction. The fee for a pitch correction is 25 dollars. The fees for any other repairs/maintenance may be determined upon the evaluation of the instrument. It generally takes me about 90 minutes to 2 hours to tune a piano, and a pitch correction generally takes me about 30 minutes. I am a recent graduate of the Advanced Piano Technology program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, Massachusetts. Although, I have been trained as an aural tuner, I do use an electronic tuning aid for the sake of consistency and expedience.
