On 4/9/15 the front strut on the passenger side of my 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van broke in half. I called Haas Towing and within a hour or so Joe arrived with a car carrier. Joe winched the van onto the flat bed and delivered it to the auto repair shop.

When the vehicle arrived at the repair shop there was extensive damage to the right front fender that occurred during transport.

On 4/20/15 I had a local body shop prepare an estimate to see how much it would cost to have the damage repaired ($1,084.64)

Today April 22nd I went in to Haas to talk to them about repairing the damage. I asked for the owner/manager and a woman said I was in the right place. I briefly told her what happened and Joe who (happened to also be sitting in the office) remembered that he was the driver on that call.

I showed Joe the estimate and he seemed surprised at the amount and asked me if my insurance was going to pay it or if I was going to pay it out of my own pocket. I said that I was hoping they would take care of it.

Both Joe and the lady became extremely defensive disclaiming any responsibility for the damage but rather blamed the strut for the damage. They demanded to know how I would have towed the van so that it wouldn’t bounce up and down on their flatbed. Not being a professional tow truck driver I didn’t really have any suggestions for them.

I think my biggest disappointment is their refusal to accept any responsibility for their actions and subsequent damage to my car. I guess I just expected a different attitude and reaction than what I got.

I haven’t yet checked with my attorney to see the extent of their liability but I would not recommend them to anyone else. Caveat Emptor.

Better then expected

My girlfriend and I were coming home from our college move in day in Dubuque. It was around 11:30 at night in the middle of nowhere and the car battery started failing which ended up being a bad alternator. So we were in a 4 mile radius of nothing with no power in the car and a dead battery. In scramble mode, we looked on the internet through the phone for 24 hour towing service and Cruz towing came up first and tried them. It was the luckiest moment of the night. He came with a flat bed, picked up the Expideition, and drove us ANOTHER HOUR AND 45 MINUTES back home where he dropped it off at the the automotive service. We were thinking a 550 dollar bill but no!! 192 dollars. 55 dollars towing and 2 dollars every mile...Absolutely incredible. We were so lucky and I HIGHLY recomend this service. I will use him every time.
