I work with you as whole person helping you identify your unique strengths and gifts that can be used in service to your personal growth and development. As a psychotherapist, I utilize a variety of techniques from various schools of thought, including Humanistic and Existential Psychology, Feminist Theory, Social Constructionism, Psychodynamic Theory, Systems Theory, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.  Each of these might help you in a different way, depending on the goals that I am helping you achieve, or the problems I am helping you resolve.

I also practice Gay Affirmative Therapy, which rejects the idea that homosexuality is abnormal and aims to promote positive, healthy identities for gay men. Working collaboratively with you, I help you create a stronger sense of empowerment and pride by questioning and challenging the stories told by the dominant culture.

My education and training in Clinical Social Work deeply inform my values as a psychotherapist. I strongly believe in the dignity and worth of every individual, and approach each client with a non-judgmental attitude, compassion, and respect.  My goal is to help you realize and build on your individual strengths, skills, and talents, so that you can reach your full potential in both your personal and professional life.
