Bad Business Ethics

This business is run by Chris Muzio. We contacted him to see if he could help my mother rebuild her water fall to her pond. My mom is a disabled, retired, senior citizen and cannot do hard labor due to her back surgeries and her age. Chris agreed to do the job and claimed he had done similiar jobs like this before. On June 12 he was paid the first half of the $530.00 that he charged for the job. He needed this half to purchase materials and get started. He began the work immediately and said the work was complete the following day, June 13th. So before he was completely done, my mom left him the money and went out to run some errands. Upon her return, a few hours later, she came back to an unfinished job. She then proceeded to call him and left him several phone messages asking when he would be coming back to complete the job. He would not return her calls nor answer her calls. It was not until a whole week later on June 25th, after many calls form me and my mom, before he agreed to finish the job. He purchased a water pump that was way too small for the 4ft deep, 15 ft wide pond and told my mom he would reimburse her for the expense of that pump but he never did. He claimed the pump cost him $70.00 and since we already had a much larger pump we would use our pump and he would reimburse us for the one he had purchased. The job was started on June 12th and it took him over two weeks to claim he had completed the job. But he never did compete the job because he never installed the water pump nor reimburse my mom for the water pump that wasn't used. He didn't make changes to the original job just added a few more rocks. He painted the inside of the pond but the paint is already falling off! He was also supposed to patch up some of the holes at the bottom of the pond and that was also not done. The pond was already in place, all he had to do was create the waterfall and patch up some small holes at the base of the pond and paint it. Apart from cheating my elderly mom out of $530.00, he also used some of our old rocks to complete the job!
