My mechanic got a starter from Durobilt in late fall of 2013. It was installed and the motor started fine. On the first trip to CJ Strike in May 2014 it began to not engage and totally quit after about ten total starts. It turns out that they put a but on the shaft which holds the gear that engages the flywheel that was not locked down. It was free to move up and down the flywheel shaft with any torque or momentum of the shaft. Not only did Durobilt deny any responsibility they went on to accuse me of cranking the engine for long periods of time. Absolutely false.I subsequently bought a starter through Amazon. $60.00. (Approximately half of what my mechanic pain to Durobilt of Nampa. It came with a "nylock" but where the one from Durobilt had a but on it which would whiz up and down with the flick of a finger.I can only assume that the labor at Durobilt is extremely ignorant or are deliberately sabotaging equipment to make customers come back.It would be nice if I were wrong, but the I don't personally see any other options.

If you want to pay new price for a rebuilt starter this is the place to come. They look up what your starter cost new and that is what you will be charged. It used to be rebuilt cost about half of new, not with the clowns in the starter repair business. Hey, you will get a freshly painted old starter. They do a nice paint job. Next time I'll buy new!

This shop has been around for a long time. Place is honorable now unlike it used to be. The owner really does not want to do business with the local individuals anymore and is only looking for the larger companies business. The sign on the wall says he will beat anyone's price on the same item by 5%. So I trusted him... Well that was a mistake, got home installed the item thinking it was a higher end part only to getting hurt finding out it is 30% cheaper at other interstate battery local locations. The part is the exact same part make, model everything.This is the second purchase I made from this individual in three years and it will be the last. This guy is just not very friendly and very intimidating... If you want to do business there, bring a fat wallet and don't ask any questions. Never left a review before and hope this place turns it around, because I like buying local...

We were planing on going out on the boat and I was checking it out after a long sitting and the starter wen't out. I called all the usual boat repair shops, but no one had the starter I needed. The company I work for has bought from durobilt before so I called them, they said bring it in and they will try to match it up...with nothing to lose I went to them, I put the starter on the counter, he took one look at it, went into the back and brought out the exact starter I needed. since then I buy all my starter and alternators from them. They know there stuff!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!
