The Takahashi Dojo is a true Japanese-style Shotokan Karate school. You will learn the art from a Japanese master who is the highest rank in the Kenkojuku organization (8th Dan). Sensei Takahashi learned Karate from the founder of the style, who himself was taught by the father of modern day Karate, Gichin Funakoshi. And because it is a traditional school it is very close-knit, with students who are very dedicated to their Dojo and strive to be helpful to new karatekas.



Sensei Takahashi has been at the Mount Kisco location for over 25 years, specializing in both children's and adult classes. Unlike many other schools, there are NO contracts. A free uniform is included when you start, and the school is currently offering a second month free when you sign up for the first month .



If you're looking for a traditional (and fun) martial arts experience for yourself and your family, this is a great school.

The school does not offer some of the activities found in other schools (birthday parties, etc.), because the Dojo is considered a place to train. That said, there are still many educational and social activities. It is a very close-knit school with students who are truly dedicated to helping new karatekas.
