A Family Business for over 63 years! In 1946, our patriarch, Laurence Eugene Piretra began to mold Star Ravioli Manufacturing Company into the business it is today. From a small storefront on Summit Avenue in Union City, NJ, he began making and selling delicious cheese and meat ravioli, stuffed shells, manicotti, and cappelletti ( tortellini ). His products were already popular with the "locals", and soon people were coming from far and wide to sample his home made pasta products. In the early 1950's Laurence's sons Laurence J. ( Larry ) and Dennis joined their father, as Star Ravioli continued to grow, now catering to local restaurants and retailers. The rest of the Piretra family - daughters Anne and Lorraine, and Mamma Anna - did their part to make Star Ravioli truly a family business, lending time at every holiday and busy season. Today, the third generation of the Piretra family - Larry's son Michael, daughter Eileen and son-in-law Rick - are an integral part of Star Ravioli's current and continued success. In 1964 Star Ravioli moved to our current 12, 000 sq. ft. manufacturing and wholesaling facility in the heart of the Meadowlands, Moonachie, NJ. We now produce over 30 varieties of ravioli, as well as other Italian specialties such as manicotti, stuffed shells, gnocchi, cavatelli, tortellini, fettuccini...and many more! We are inspected daily by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and are HACCP regulated. This insures you the finest, purest, ( and most delicious ) products available.
