From the beginning, we were lied to. We left the deposit three weeks before they finally said that the boat was ready for pickup - it was supposed to have been ready three days later (granted, it poured rain for three or four days). We had to get a Game Warden that pulled us over for expired tags involved to finally get our titles and registration completed. They have 45 days to complete the paperwork and put everything in your name - it took them over 60 days. DO NOT LET THEM RESTORE ANY GEL-COAT! THEY WILL RUIN IT! I just paid $1,500 to have the outside of my boat fixed after they gouged it and destroyed it with too heavy of a sandpaper. WHETHER SELLING OR BUYING, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. The previous owner of our boat sent me pictures of the boat just days before he took it to CBC and they DESTROYED IT! They have NO protection from sun damage and most interiors are rotting out because they are not giving the boats adequate protection.
Lie: The owner of the boat passed away and his wife is selling it
Fact: The owner was very much alive and pissed that Conroe Boating Center (CBC) went over 60 days without telling them that his boat has sold. When he found out, he called CBC and they told him that they had $2,500 for him when his contract stated no less than $12,500.
Lie: The boat is on the water right now doing 70 MPH
Fact: The boat is not capable of doing 70 MPH and the speedometer was broken
Lie: I cannot give you the title because the bank has it. I will get it in four days
Fact: The ALIVE owner had the title
Lie: It is illegal to pay cash for the boat and pay for your registration and titling fees on a debit card
Fact: The Game Warden that got involved suggested that I do that.
Lie: We do not charge a cleaning fee
Fact: On the buyer's order, there is a cleaning fee
Lie to owner of the boat: we do not have your money - we cannot pay you
Fact: When theft charges were discussed - they magically came up with the money
