Nice having this restaurant in the Montebello AMC movie theater. Good deals for their rice bowls.

I normally don’t go over to Montebello that much anymore due to the many gangs in that neighborhood. You have the Hispanic gangs, the Asian Gangs, etc. And it did not surprise me since about the Asian gangs since Asians comprise of 11% of the residence in Montebello and 67% in the adjacent city of Monterey Park. But after reading the reports on the link below, everything I see seems consistent with what is on the report.

Prior to this last couple of years, I was not aware of all the gangs in Montebello. In fact in 2007, spoke to the leader of the Mongol gang in Montebello, and was not aware that he was the leader of the Mongol as he seems like a friendly person so I did not think much of the encounter. It was not until later that I recognized him in the picture identifying him as the leader of the Mongol gang.



And it has been almost a year I was at the Yoshinoya Beef Bowl in Montebello. I was looking up here in yellowpages.com and notice that it was closed around 6 months or so ago. So when I passed by here and notice that it was still open, I decided to stop in to get a bite and see. The place was pretty much empty except for the workers. I placed an order and ate there. The food did not taste hot, fresh and good like before. In fact it was cold, stale like it has been sitting around for awhile, and tasted lousy. After eating the food, my stomach felt woozy until the next day.



Then I start to think about the yellowpages.com showing that this place is closed. I wonder if it was hacked to show that it is closed to drive business away from here, since stories in the news of many hacking incident in America by Chinese hackers. And maybe this bad food is another way of driving customers away from this Japanese Beef Bowl.



The above report by the Library of Congress mentioned that even the Japanese Yakuza is afraid of the Chinese Triads in Japan. Maybe this is not only just in Japan but even in America. And that here in Montebello, the Chinese Triads have enough power to drive business away from Japanese entities such as Yoshinoya Beef Bowl.



Regardless of the reason why the food is terrible, I would not recommend going here. And for the bad food, I can only give 1 star. So don’t pay attention to yellowpages.com label that it is closed, as it is not. But the food here is not worth you stopping by so the yellowpages.com label it as being close might as well stay close.

Yummy! Get one with extra juice. A large is enough for two people. This restaurant has been at this location a long time.
