Finally, honest people!

I would recommend smog check unlimited to everyone I know. They were so honest and had my car ready in a very timely manner. The girl in the office was friendly and the techs were very helpful. I will go back for sure!!!!

Trying to get my ca to pass smog

They where very nice and under stood why I was so stressed about why my car won't pass smog. They tried really hard to figure out what the problem was and did some work to it and didn't charge me a dime. When they couldn't fix it they referred me to someone else. They asked me to keep them informed about my car. Which I am doing. Hate to say it but no my car still hasn't past smog. Thank you for trying

Tried to rip me off

Went down to get a smog on my 2002 Toyota Corolla that's been sitting in the driveway for a few years now. Charged up the battery and drove it down to smogs unlimited. Passed emissions part but he said my monitors were off due to the battery being dead. I was told it was a free retest and to drive it about 60 miles and come back so I did. During the 60 mile trip my check engine light came on so I took it back. I was told I needed a computer diagnoses done for $90. So I left the car and waited for the call. Later that day I got the call and was told my catalytic converter was bad and that it had to be replaced by a factory converter only. He quoted me $2100 to do the job. I got off the phone and called Midas. The guy at Midas asked for my vin# and said he'd call me back. 15 minutes later I got the call and was told it would be $493.21 out the door parts and labor, $1600 dollars cheaper. I went to smogs unlimited to pickup my car. The guy behind the counter that gave me the quote asked if he took off $200 dollars would that be in my range. Wow lol. So i asked for my keys, and was told if they didn't do the work than the retest wouldn't be free but it would be discounted to $28. Midas hooked me up and I took my car to another smog station because I wasn't about to give this company anymore of my business. My father recommended this place to me, and after this he will no longer be taking his 2 cars to them anymore.

I recently needed to smog my car. It was running poorly and I knew it needed some work. So I took it to Smog Check Unlimited. They will diagnose the problem, fix it, and smog it. They called me with bad news. It seems the main computer in my car was bad. It would cost $1500 for the computer & $70 to install it. I told the I could not afford that. I decided to locate a used computer. I found one for $150.00. I gave it to them to install. Then came more bad news. The used computer didn't fix the problem. This seemed strange to me. I told them to put the original computer back in and I would pick up my car. I paid them $161 for diagnosis and installing my computer back into my car. Before I paid out $1570 for a new computer, I decided to get a second opinion. I took my car to another shop. They diagnosed the car as a bad intake gasket. They charged me $240 for repairs and smog. It runs great. They told me the computer is fine. Smog Check won't reimburse me!

never again

took my truck in for a smog check and it failed. I was told it failed because my check engine light was on due to error p0455 and p1491. I asked how much it would be to fix these errors and was told I wold have to have a $97 computer diagnostic. I also asked if the re-test was free and was told that it was. I needed to get back to work at this and told them I would come Saturday for the computer diagnostic.

After work I looked up the codes and found that I only needed to replace a blown fuse and a leaky gas cap. Having replaced both items the check engine light went off, I felt confident my truck would now pass smog.

I returned to Smog unlimited and was told that no a retest was not free it would cost 37 plus the cert and transmission fee

I would highly recommend that you go elsewhere for smog these types of un-truthful business practices are exactly why mechanics have had the long held reputation of being shysters and thieves.
