My professional life began as a registered nurse. After working as a hospital nurse for several years, I studied at the School of Medicine at UC Davis and received certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and practiced as an FNP in Modesto, Oakdale, and Manteca for many years. This experience led me to realize that physical symptoms often have an emotional component--and vice versa. Whatever worry, stress, or anxiety is present can manifest in one's body. As a result of this realization, I then attended Pacifica Graduate Institute and became licensed as a Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist. I began my private practice which I am still--after fifteen years--offering to people seeking help in getting more control over their lives. I also participated in a two year seminar at the C. G. Jung Institute in San Francisco, learning Jungian psychotherapy. Additionally, I took a six month training in Control Mastery, a cognitive system of psychotherapy, at San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute.
