I also had appalling service. I went to return items with a 'gift receipt' and was told that I could "not return any item without the original receipt". As it happened I also had the original receipt but I queried the purpose of a gift receipt. The cashier said "look, I am not arguing with you," I said, "actually you are" to which she replied, "No, you are arguing with me." She called a manager who identified the items and offered me store credit (per gift receipt) or refund (per original receipt). As soon as she had gone the cashier sneered, "see, that was easy wasn't it?' It would have been a lot easier if she had simply said, bear with me, I am not quite sure how we process a gift receipt. Exasperating. I called the store and complained. The person who took my call didn't even ask which cashier it was but did apologize.
