Brain based biofeedback, also called neurofeedback, has been proven to be as effective as stimulant medications for ADHD. It also helps with Autism symptoms, other learning disorders, mood, stress and other issues. EEG biofeedback, a.k.a. neurofeedback, is supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics as a "good" support for ADHD. But I think it will be shown to do more as more research comes to the foreground. The last ten years has seen dozens of studies showing great successes with Autism to literally change brains, social life, and self regulation in family and school, or work life. People see dramatic results in some cases with the right amount of work. I have also seen seizures reduce in clients. I also have videos on my website that are information rich from YouTube. I regularly have clients be able to reduce medication and come a better understanding of how to create and keep attention and maintain healthier development through self control. Biofeedback changes the brain long term and I use well researched methods with adaptations for stress, trauma, and other needs during treatment to keep it as helpful and smooth as possible. I offer it with what I hope is life changing counseling to help people understand their learning style and in some cases get negative symptoms within a "bubble" of normal. I work to improve the general life situation. The Way That Biofeedback Works: When a person is monitored for a needed brain frequency for their struggle or goal, and they produce it a game or movie keeps playing. When the person makes less of it, the game or movie stops. This is done with counseling, psychotherapy, and teaching to empower the client and help families. State insurances pay for this and we work with private insurance as well by giving a "free" session after a talk therapy session to learn and change mental habits or skills.
