Dr Furutani is very personable and knowledgeable vet. Takes care of your pet and treats them like part of the family like they are. Ultimate care to make sure your pet is comfortable if they have to have surgery.

Petowners in the Mililani area, I don't usually do reviews, but by far I had the worst experience at Mililani Mauka Vet Clinic.



We were 6 minutes late for our appt (front desk lady said 10, big whopping difference) and they made us wait 1 1/2 hours to be seen. But that's only after throwing a big fit about waiting so long for being 6 MINUTES LATE! The front desk lady gave us the run-arounds said she gave the 8:40 patient our 8:20 am appt. and in turn we will take the 8:40 appt. We understood and waited patiently. Next thing you know patients after us are being seen before us and by then it is 10am. And then front desk lady has the nerve to tell us that they scheduled us with the wrong doctor. Really?! I set this appt over a week ago and now you're only telling me this. And to top it off, the front desk lady says that Dr. Pate is running behind because of a "shy" dog that was not cooperating and asked if we prefer to come back at 11:45am so we wouldn't have to wait so long. I told her, "no" since we were already there. I requested to talk to a Doctor.



Dr. Shah explained their scheduling system and said each patient is allotted 20 minutes and because we came in late they have to honor the other appts first. So I told her we came in 6 minutes late for gods sake, that would've left us 14 minutes into the appt. thus avoiding us having to wait an 1 1/2 hours to be seen and an extremely disgruntled customer. Instead of acknowledging and empathizing she goes on to compare how i'm treated when i'm late to my doctor's appt. (customer service fail), which of course was besides the point. She continues to say that they will eventually FIT us in and won't charge us an Emergency visit. So I said, "why should you charge us an Emergency visit? We made this appt ahead of time and were 6 minutes late!" I asked Dr. Shah why should we stay with them, and to give her customers a reason not to walk over to their new competitor across the parking lot? Low and behold, she didn't even give a damn about losing our business. She basically implied that the front door was open if we wanted to leave! POOR CHOICE OF WORDS! That's when you know a business is only out for your money! And mind you, medical care for dogs ain't cheap (and I have 2) so you know we've invested alot in them in the past years. So disappointing! They act as if WE'VE never waited for THEM in the past because THEY were running behind, could they not extend the same courtesy? Where's the loyalty? Could this matter have been handled differently? Petowners, go to Pet Clinic instead (but that's another review).



By the way, Dr. Pate is awesome and so is the rest of the staff (except of course the front desk lady), however this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth! They also tried to make it up by comping 2 Radiographs view (x-ray). I will say though that their location is convenient with lots of parking and they have an exceptionally clean clinic, but that doesn't make up for the treatment we received.
