My husband was the one who wanted a solar electric system at first. But after speaking with the people at Sunlight, I got really excited that it was going to save us a lot of money over time. I now think it was the best investment we've made. I haven't paid a rate increase in 3 years and I would have spent my intial investment on electricity in less than 10 years because rates have gone up a lot faster than our salesman predicted when he estimated our pay back! The panels are warranteed for 25 years and I've read that they should last 35-40 years. So how can this not save us money? Anyway, the people at this company are really nice, patient and endlessly helpful. They seem to really love what they do and that made the process one that made us tell all of our friends to at least call and see if their house was good and get a price if it was. I had thought it would be too expensive. Turns out its more expensive to just keep paying more and more, year after year, for energy that isn't clean and isn't endlessly available. I found this chance to write about these guys when I looked up their number to call them about a solar hot water system now that there is a rebate from CT and a federal tax credit. Heating hot water is much cheaper, only 2 or 3 panels and will now cost about half of what it would have when we thought about it years ago. I'm glad they emailed me!
