Had my 5.3L V8 from my F-150 repower by them, it took them 4 days. installation by a different shop in 2 days and i am very happy with the quality.

This is our third engine with Xcessive Engines.

In 2015 our first engine was for our 2007 Ford Expedition, they provided us a great product and fast turnaround. Engine still running strong.



This January (2016) we repower our twin 454 boat, engines are running great, took them about 15 days to have both ready instead of the 12 days which was a small delay however I am very happy with my engines.

First off, it takes a lot for me to write a bad review. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt and understand most things.

That being said, my experience, so far, with this company is:

Worse customer service and integrity of any company I have ever dealt with.

100% customer satisfaction should be taken off of their website. Especially the phone numbers and email addresses. They are useless.

I ordered and paid for a reman 4.3L Mercruiser, with timing cover and water pump on May 13.

When I talked to Rick he told me that, if I purchased that it would be 7 days to build and due to the time of year, they were behind a little, but that I should receive it before Memorial day. Didn't have a problem with that.

After June 1st and still no motor, I starting calling and when I did reach him, I was told he had received a bad batch of heads, which he had to send back and wait on replacements. Took almost 4 weeks from when I bought the motor, to receive it. Had to almost beg for a correct tracking number.

After I finally received the motor, the water pump and timing cover, were not with it. I contacted Rick and was told that they were coming from the manufacturer. I would have thought they would come with the motor, since their website states that they keep them in stock. I was also told that they would be over-nighted to me. Took another week to receive them. Would think that since I had already paid for them and they were not going to be installed by Xcessive, they would have been here before the motor or at least with it. Had a hard time getting a tracking number on those too.

Did not receive valve cover gaskets in the gasket set. Had to wait for those to be sent and when I did get them, they were the wrong one's. Had to purchase locally.

Everything was installed, torqued properly, proper fluids used, following installation instructions from Xcessive. Within 10 min. of first starting, oil was full of water. Seems like all the bad heads didn't get shipped back for replacement.

I and my wife have sent numerous emails and phone calls for almost 2 months now, with no response. At least before I received the motor, I could get someone on the phone, sometimes. Once I had the motor and parts, the ability to contact anyone or have anyone contact me, was gone.

When I had to find a motor, I searched and found Xcessive. The price was within my budget, seemingly good warranty and after talking with Rick on the phone, I had a good feeling about the purchase. I thought this seemed like a good reliable, honest company. Get what you pay for, I guess.

It sure looks like that you get the run around, put off and the shipping of the motor is delayed, so the 45 days to lodge a dispute with Paypal runs out and if they ignore you for 2 more years, then the 24 month warranty runs out, too. Once they have your money, they are done with you.

Unless something happens to change my mind, my advice is, if you are thinking about buying a motor from a company that you can actually have contact with and lives up to what it advertises, look somewhere else.
