Founded in 1960, Taft Elementary School is an educational institution that provides a range of learning opportunities for more than 300 students in pre-kindergarten through grade six. It offers the English Language Learners program and organizes book fairs and parent-teacher conferences. The school also provides special education programs for gifted and talented students. Taft Elementary School offers classes in music and physical education. Its extracurricular activities include band, orchestra and guitar. In addition, the school maintains a library and provides guidance counseling solutions. As a Blue Ribbon School, it has partnerships with Washington Mutual Bank and Hewlett-Packard. The school is a part of the Independent School District of Boise City.
