Dr. Karl Hurst-Wicker is knowledgeable and his skills are superior to any other pain doctors I have seen. He understands myofascial pain the appropriate treatments, and all other related procedures for conditions that cause chronic pain. I have had multiple ultrasound guided trigger point injections and SI spinal injections. He is gentle and it is my pleasure to work with such a compassionate person who listens and takes my complaints seriously. In my 10+ years as pain care consumer, I have never experienced what it means to have a physician who works as a team member to investigate the right treatments for me. He is not only willing to collaborate, he embraces it and puts my outcome above all else so that I can live as productively as possible despite living with daily pain. And while my opioids are prescribed by my rheumatologist, he understands that I need them to function and participate in therapies that help my multiple pain conditions. I appreciate what a difference a team effort can make, I appreciate his willingness to explain why he thinks certain things will help more than others will. I trust him explicitly, and I recommend Dr Hurst-Wicker to anyone who lives with chronic pain.
