Easy moves is not easy!

This is a copy of the letter I sent to the office:

Can you please tell me what your Overland Park hours are for the week. I will need to stop by to speak with a manager about the extremely poor service that my husband I received for our move.

As a heads up, when we were quoted we told the gentleman that we spoke with every piece of furniture that we had and an over estimate of boxes just in case, and when the men came out they had to make two trips because they couldn't fit it all. That is extremely unacceptable, I feel that you just want to get more moving hours and intentionally brought a smaller truck or did not pack as efficiently as possible to maximize space. That cost us nearly three extra hours, and as the only working parent of a family with an infant, that is a lot of wasted time and money.

In addition, I was quoted for the break-down of any items that needed to be moved, come to find out, that you cannot break down or move my entertainment center. Also completely unacceptable because of your lack of willingness to provide the service that we needed we have to find a second moving company and spend more time and money moving. I reiterate, as a family of three with an infant this is impossible to find the time or money to do!

This is gross negligence and I will be coming in to speak with the owner/head manager to discuss an acceptable resolution.

Carolyn, Thank you for scheduling your move with us. I must respectfully refute the statements made in this review. 1. You scheduled your move at the last minute. All of our larger trucks were booked out and you were warned that it may take more than one trip. Our crews are very experienced and packed the truck as best we could while safely moving the items. 2. The reason we did not disassemble and move your entertainment center is because it was made of inexpensive particle board. As per our contract that you signed, we reserve the right to not move particle board furniture unless you sign off on a liability release in the event the item is damaged. Had you agreed to sign the release, we would have gladly moved it. You chose not to. Instead of calling our offices during your move to voice your concerns, you chose to wait until after the move was completed to send this email and post numerous complaints online. While I certainly understand the stress and frustration that comes with moving, a simple phone call would have solved all of these issues. Upon receiving this email, we immediately called you and sent a crew all the way from Lees Summit to North KC to resolve the entertainment center issue. They spent several hours disassembling it and moving it to your new residence and didn't finish until after midnight. We charged you nothing for this except our cost is fuel to get there. This effectively repaid you for the drive time that resulted in us having to make a second trip when the first crew was there. I sincerely apologize for the trouble you had during your move but I believe we did everything possible to move your items safely and quickly. When you voiced concerns, we went above and beyond to resolve them.

My wife and I were moving from...

My wife and I were moving from an apartment to a townhouse, and there were several large items that were going to prove problematic. I scheduled an appointment with Easy Moves; the employee I spoke to was friendly and cooperative, and a truck was scheduled to arrive between 12:30 and 1:30 the day of the move. The day came, and I made sure that I was at the apartment shortly after 12. After several phone calls, the movers finally arrived at 4:30 in the afternoon. We got all of the big items moved, but my being tied up waiting for them meant that I was unable to make any other trips to and from the townhouse.



I called them back a day or two later to register my displeasure over the situation, and was given the run around. The man I talked to said that the guy who had made the appointment, and who had overseen the trucks, was not in that day, so he was unable to tell me anything other than sorry. There was no attempt whatsoever to rectify the situation, just a weak apology and a "this is not the way we do business" (which, given the circumstances, I'm disinclined to believe).



If it were possible to give Easy Moves zero stars, I would do so in a heartbeat.
