Hugo M. Linares, D.O., is a vitreo-retinal surgeon, evaluating and treating patients with retinal diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tear and retinal detachment, vitreous floaters, macular edema, branch retinal vein and artery occlusion, epiretinal membrane, and macular hole. He performs retinal injections, laser procedures, and retinal detachment surgeries. Dr. Linares graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey with a bachelor of science in biological sciences. He received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Linares completed his internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. He performed his residency in ophthalmology at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was chief resident in his final year. Dr. Linares completed his fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at The National Retina Institute in Towson, Maryland. He is a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is fluent in Spanish.
