Food was good ,to dark in restaurant, waiter was in need of training,ok i woyld go again. Grate concept dark haired waitress was in need of public relations course overall good 4 stars.

I have loved this restaurant for 30 yrs..I now live 2 hrs away and still make the trip..I agree some things have changed over the years, but it is still my favorite place. If I still lived in mattoon I would eat their all the time. I love the new look. My one complaint would be that portion size is down. It is still a good price.

Upon entering this restaurant you think you are in for a real treat, think twice. While the ambiance is great, that is where it ends. The food was atrocious and most barely edible. The wait staff laughed at us when we told her this, and nothing was deducted from the final bill despite most of the food going uneaten. We ordered both mexican and american entrees and they missed the mark on both. I'm not sure where they learned to prepare mexican food, but they were horribly mistaken. Portions of our meal resembled vomit, and smelled like it too. I would not suggest going here, despite how hungry you are. They turned down the lights halfway throughout our meal, (making it way too dark), but that still didn't mask what was on our plates.

great concept, however, to dark to eat. it doesnt matter if you come in for lunch or dinner, they need to switch to day light - people can not see the menu at times. the food switches from great to worse at times, I guess depending who is making the batches. it's new and very different, I would suggest to have the wait staff trained better. The once who came from th eother location are ok, however, it would not hurt given them a brush of how to deal with the public. Grace goes a long way!
