Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, even if it’s a big box store. GE is great, however I am flabbergasted by the overwhelmingly poor experience provided by Pat Heser (Owner) and Shianna McKinney (Asst. Manager).

Half of the six appliances were damaged during install. Fridge scratched on both sides. Range drawer scratched. Hood face dented.

The assistant manager is unprofessional and could use formal management training. Playing word games via email to downplay damage, even violated FDA safety recommendations by saying I could transfer food right away without coming to temp.

The owner performed the second delivery, bringing me a store demo unit and attempting to pass it as brand new and just unboxed before delivery. When pressed about finding a scratched door handle, heavily scratched drawers, missing divider, and a thick layer of dust, he caved and admitted it was a display model.

Attempting to pass a display unit as brand new and freshly unboxed is deceitful, a lie, and frankly I feel like he attempted this to ‘stick it to me’. In my sales, customer service, and management positions, I have never lied to a customer or attempted to provide products that were less than advertised.

The owners true personality came out during delivery, with racists remarks like “It would be nice if the Mexicans would take more care in their work” (referring the GE manufacturing employees), and “I’m not able to choose who comes through our door” in the context of not choosing to do business with me.

Pat did eventually apologize for the deceit from bringing a display unit, but also explained he’s done it before without problem and that it’s common in the industry. Perhaps, but that doesn’t make it right.

In the end I was declined any compensation for our time and hassle, and was told “We understand your time is valuable and so is ours”. Received a replacement range and hood, plus compensation for the fridge in the amount of $250+tax, and a bottle of touch up paint.

Ge fridge for 5 years. No kids. Plastic on door hinge worn out! WENT to star TO ORDER A PART TO CHANGE DOOR TO OPEN ON other side. They couldn't order me a part cuz they couldn't figure it out. They asked me to call Ge and beg for a solution. Never get there again.

The Star guys were great. They delivered and set up. And when we had a problem in the first month they came right out and fixed the minor problem. I will buy from them again when it's time.

Had a great experience with Star Appliance today. It started off with a timely response to an email inquiry. I had done my research about the washer I wanted and their timely response to my questions about delivery and hauling my old one away led me to go into the store. I wasn't sure enough about my choice to make the purchase online at one of the big box stores. The employee working was quite helpful and knowledgeable about their products, more so than what I had discovered online. When she qualified me and explained the rebates I could get from the electric and gas company I was sold!

Doesn't attempt to repair....

I took a microwave for repair to Star Appliance. They said it could not be repaired. The tech did not tell me ont he phone what he actually did to test it. When I asked about the ceramic or thermal fuse he said there was none.



That was the first mistake.



I went into pick up the Microwave and there was no diagnostic ticket or anything with it.



It was dusty and dirty not the way I brought it in.



I took it to a repair person that knew what he was doing and found out all it was was the fuse.



I wrote a letter to Star Appliance asking for my $25 back.



When you bring any appliance in this is the first thing they ask for and explain its for the diagnostic.



Which they never present to you when you ask for it.



They never responded with a phone call or letter or returned my money.

The repair person that fixed my Microwave told me I would never hear a response fromt hem and that they are typical of this type of tactic.



I will be contacting the BBB and also the attorney general.
