SSDI is a federal program that provides benefits to qualifying individuals and members of their Family. The program is designed to financially assist individuals WHO have sufficient work histories to establish "insured" status and WHO are unable to work AS a result of a disability. SSI is designed to help aged. Blind and disabled individuals WHO have little or NO income and financial resources. SSI makes the recipient eligible to receive Medicaid in the state of Georgia. Disabled. Aged 65. Or blind individuals with limited income and countable resources of less than $2.000 for individuals and $3.000 for couples are ELIGIBLE. THOMAS C.
