Margate Cobbler Shop

Pros: Absolutely None!

Cons: Absolutely atrocious customer service, rude and disrespectful, Slow, Poor quality, Extremely Unprofessional and unethical , Owners are out of their minds!

The meanest "shoe repair" establishment on the planet. You would think a place dealing with people's $300 boots and handbags would have a little more class, professionalism, manners and would treat their customers with respect. not this place!

These people who call themselves professionals stole my mother's $300 Coach boots. She and I brought them in for repairs. Not only did they damage them irreparably, for just a simple zipper fix, but they refused to correct the damage. We filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau stating we wanted compensation for the damaged boots, since they refused to correct their mistake but they said they couldn't force the shop to do anything since they were not law enforcement. we then attempted to speak to the police but the owner made it seem like we were choosing not to pay for a job “well done.” in the end the Owner refused to return the boots. Instead of spending a substantial amount of time, money, and energy on a lawsuit, we reluctantly decided to let it go But I am writing this review to warn all future patrons, or should I say victims, to STAY AWAY FROM MARGATE COBBLER SHOP! These people will not try to work with you to improve the work OR pretend to care about your business. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE and take your business somewhere else, or any number of more ethical, more professional shops.

Took a pair of shoes of my vis...

Took a pair of shoes of my visiting lady friend from Indiana, and they promise to have it ready Friday before 7:00 PM.

I came 5:50 and they were close - try ringing.... many times no answer - there was another lady waiting with same problem. My friend left Saturday morning with no shoes and I had to have them sent with the same amount cost for repairing. Also they made me pay ahead...There is only one place you do that... and it is not a shoe repair shop.STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM, IF YOU WANT SERVICE!!! They would not know how to spell it. I gave a star just because the system don't accept minuses.

I wanted to apoligize we get really busy and at the time my father had cancer, and was very sick, I was short employees also. So i had to go to see him and help my mother out. So the shop had to close early. My father is now gone.. God rest his soul. We do quality work and if you ever have problems from the job we fix it free of charge, depending on the situation. We been there for more than 30 yrs. We make make people pay in advance because to many people leave there shoe's after we repair them, and that cost us money. Thats why we request the money upfront or if its alot like $100 etc. we will take half we need atleast a deposit. Its always good to call to make sure the shoes are going be ready before you come in. Just make sure you keep the ticket. Once again I apoligize. Sincerely, Margate cobbler shop, John Winkis
