Manteno Church of the Nazarene is a 'friendly church with the community at heart.' Pastor Jack McCormick is a hands-on pastor who preaches, visits the sick, prays, and conducts marital and other counseling. The church has a new addition for the children's programs which includes classrooms, nursery and a room for nursing moms. This church offers services Sunday mornings, evenings and Wednesday nights. There are three services on Sunday morning-- they are 8:30 a.m., 10 which are fairly traditional and an 11 a.m. Contemporary-themed service. There is an Vacation Bible School for one week each summer, which lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours each night. There is also a Music Camp where youngsters hone their musical and drama skills culminating in a presentation to a community group as well as the church. Other programs include Caravans, a Wednesday eve. Christian scouting program which meets during the school year; Bible quiz team; and Sunday school.
