Took my bike there last July 2012 my bike would not start. Jim said it was a bad starter

left the bike they ordered the starter. He calls me back a week later telling me the motor is locked up but I still owe him $650 for the starter he installed. He says he never checked to see if the motor was locked up until he broke the first starter he put on the bike. I am still wondering how the motor was locked up since the last time I rode it the bike ran fine. He did not want to fix the motor only wanted to sell me a new motor. I wanted to repair the original motor I have a 90th anniversary bike and wanted to keep the numbers matching. I checked with Harley Davidson they have a reman program that will totally redo the motor to factory new for $2600. I asked Jim if he could do that for me but he said it had to be a Harley Davidson dealer. All he could do was sell me a new motor for $4000. Took the bike to Harley Davidson got the motor remand looks great runs great. 3500 miles into the new motor the starter starts to give me problems just clicks then the second time you hit the starter it will start. Took the bike to Jim to see if the starter was still in warranty he says no gets mad because I took the bike to H.D. for the motor repair tells me to take it to H.D.they can fix it. The only reason I took the bike to H.D. was he could not do what I wanted. I was willing to pay him to look at the bike but he told me to go to H.D. what a jerk I could not recommend this shop to anyone. The starter he put on my bike was made in China!!

I was referred to Jim and Barb in 2011 by some guy on the street. Was impressed the first time I met them both. We have 2 Harleys and use this place for everything except our warranty work. I recommend Jim to all my bike friends. He is knowledgeable, honest, and just plain down to earth. I like having 1 mechanic take care of my bike. You will not be disappointed when visiting the Little Guy's Shop!
