i.e.This was at one time a great place to eat however it has sadly taken a turn for the worse. Most likely this is because of bad management. The salad bar and hot food bar are great but the items that come from the grill are marginal at best. Service was very poor. After 30 minutes the "on duty manager" actually brought out the order and it was not correct. Sometime later he brought out the correct order but the fries were cold, the burger bun was soogie and the steak was just plain nasty. The manager did not ask us about the food or how it tasted so we had to hunt him down. When we told him about the food he checked it out and agreed but... did not offer to correct it. He just agreed and left the table. Not sure who owns this restaurant but they need to replace the manager and the cooks. The cooks and waitress were actually eating food, right in front of the grill in full display of the customers....while the manager watched them.

I dine at the Bonanza Steakhouse in Mandan regularly. The prices are very reasonable and the food is of very good quality. However I give the 2 star rating due to a very unusual aspect of the restaurant the I keep experiencing. The Steaks are brought to the table cold.... The steaks are served on a hot metal plate in holder, however they never bother to heat the metal plate before placing the steak on it, so as soon as the steak hits the plate bingo its cold. Also depending on how busy the restaurant is, you may have your steak brought to the table before you are seated to eat your salad from the salad bar. Hense, yes your steak will definately be cold by the time you eat it. Fix this and I will give this restaurant a 5 star rating for sure. Could easily be a great steak place for a very reasonable price.
