Provided by YP.comWe also had a HORRIBLE cockroach experience in August 2011. My husband and I went to Ella's Deli for breakfast after returning from a trip. I ordered french toast and he ordered soup. When I got my french toast, I went to dunk a piece in the maple syrup that was in a cup on my plate and there was a cockroach floating in the syrup.
We told the waitress and she just said "Oh, do you want something else?" I suspect by her reaction that this was not the first time this had happened. We just got up and left. No one even tried to apologize.
This is too bad becuase the atmosphere is really neat and people do take their kids there. Makes you wonder if the cooks and wait staff just brush off the cockroaches before serving your food and sometimes one just "slips" by. REALLY GROSS EXPERIENCE!
BTW - I'm only rating this as a 1 star becuase I have to rate it to post this review. My rating really is negative stars.

Provided by YPmobileStraight from my 5-year-old's mouth "Mommy, that was the funnest lunch ever!". Some of our favs include the big red (how can you go wrong with a cotton candy garnished drink) and the shells and cheese. Mommy loves the Rueben soup and the fresh salads.

Provided by YP.comWe were lead to Ella's a few years ago by the hotel we were staying at. Ever since then, we try to get there for the ambience, fun atmosphere, and great food. Ella's is interesting for locals and for those just passing through the Madison area--it is not your normal fast food mundane. Great variety in the menu; child-friendly, full service restaurant with a homey, cheerful atmosphere. Memory lane feeling for older people, and memory making place for all ages. The decor is fascinating, and food and service are terrific. There is a huge ice cream counter with many delicious choices.

Provided by YP.comThe first time you walk into Ella's, your jaw can't help falling open at the amazing display of mechanical things all around you. The tables are all cool too; each has something different inside to look at or play with while you wait for food. Everything is kosher, selection is excellent and the sundaes are amazing (try a pound cake sundae - you'll never forget it).
