The Department of Animal Health and Biomedical Sciences is a biological science department within the school of veterinary medicine and a degree-granting department of the graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The department has a strong research and teaching emphasis on aspects of contemporary biology that combines molecular and cellular approaches with whole animal systems. It offers research programs in contemporary biology; graduate and undergraduate research training opportunities in core areas of animal and human health, including immunology, molecular and cellular biology, physiology and infectious diseases; and public and international services within related faculty disciplines. Its endocrinology-reproductive physiology program is a broad-base interdepartmental degree-granting program designed to provide training at the predoctoral and postdoctoral levels in the research in reproductive physiology and health. It organizes various seminars and symposiums, and is located in Madison, Wis.
