EmailALPCO Recycling was founded in 1960 as a gravel business and eventually using the empty gravel pits as landfills; replacing the commonly used “burning dumps”. Al Plumb started pulling out cardboard and other recyclable materials in order to divert it from the landfill and put it to good use. In 1989, ALPCO Inc became ALPCO Recycling, with its sole focus on the conservation of energy and other natural resources through the use of recycling. ALPCO Recycling quickly became a leader in Upstate NY in the areas of residential, commercial and industrial recycling.
