My husband and I took out a policy with Safeco for auto and rental insurance after moving to Texas from Wisconsin. After receiving and accepting a very reasonable quote we paid for one year's coverage up-front. The next month they charged our credit card more than double the amount we agreed to, citing the fact that we did not provide proof of previous insurance. We had provided proof of our previous insurance through another company for preceding 7 years. My husband went in to the office with policy in hand and was told that it would all be handled. Long story short, our agent made continual excuses, failed to return calls when she had promised to get back to us by her own self-imposed deadline, and essentially resulted in us canceling our insurance policy with them. After 4 months we are still trying to get all of our money owed back. They have been the ultimate in unprofessional-ism, and I feel obligated to warn you to deal with them at the risk of your own literal and financial headache.
