They are great with trimming puppies and all size dogs. I took a little yorkie terrier there to get him all cleaned up and hair cut. They were fabulous and they done a great job on him. Couldn’t ask for anyone to do better with that. Way to go bow wow grooming.

My Shitzu Copper has been taken care of and groomed by Bow Wow for over 5 years. They are very warm, friendly and LOVE animals. During the 5 years that they have groomed Copper, they have always given him A+ service as well as treat him as an equal customer. Most groomers treat the owner as the only customer but that is untrue. When we go to Bow Wow, they see 2 customers both me and Copper. Additionally, when I walk out their door oozing, Copper is smiling from ear to ear and looking quite dapper! He has never been reluctant when I drop him off (dog owners know what I'm talking about as the opposite has been true at other pet groomers in Louisville) and always comes home cheerful. Most importantly, they take the time to listen anytime I want to change or alter his style and that's why I keep going back to them. Prices are great as they either beat their competitors by 5-10 dollars or at a minimum won't cost you more. Finally, if you're looking for a groomer for your animal, I wouldn't hesitate to bring them to Bow Wow. You will be happy with the entire experience and so will your furry best friend.

Been using bow wow for about a year now, im not a very easy to please person and my dog is not a easy groom. The girls always do a really good job with bandit. I have been to several shops in the city this one seems to be the only one that can get it right, the shop is cleaner than some ive seen... so that's a plus I suppose. and they always seem to get my dog back to me pretty quick I think. its about the same as many other shops as far as how long the dog is there. Im also on a fixed in come and the girls have worked with me on price several times to make sure bandit stays in good shape. They have been so good to this old lady !

I will NEVER go back, and I highly recommend you don’t take your dog there!



I called and made an appointment a week in advance, and explained everything I needed for my 2 large dogs. I arrived for my 9AM appointment, and they didn't have anything written down. I explained again how I wanted my dogs groomed and how I wanted their hair cut. She was dismissive, and didn’t write down anything I said. I asked how long it would take, and she told me they wouldn't be ready until the end of the day. I told the groomers I would just take the dogs home and bring them back when they were ready for them. They insisted I leave the dogs because they do the grooming in blocks (like a hairstylist may cut someone’s hair while you’re under the dryer). So I leave my dogs.

At 2:20 I get a call saying that the dogs needed to be picked up in 15 minutes. I told them I couldn’t do that because I was on my way to a doctor’s appointment. She told me I *had* to be there by 3:30 at the latest. I had to cancel my doctor’s appointment because I could not do both. This is after they told me the dogs wouldn’t be ready until the “end of the day” which, in the real world, is 5pm. I rushed over to pick my dogs up.

My friendly, happy dog was crying in distress. The women barely spoke to me, I paid via credit card (which they charged $2 to use, but don’t take checks), and received NO receipt at all. I just wanted to get out of there, and so did my dogs. And here is where things really take a turn for the worse.

I get my dog to the car, and he won’t jump in. He’s terrified. I thought he was just anxious from being away. I picked him up and put him in the car. When we got home, I started noticing things that were off. My dog was scared, and not outgoing. He sat curled up beside me and slept a lot. He had a really bad haircut. He had large chunks taken out, as if they didn’t use a guard. He had a ½” cut in his armpit where he was cut by the clippers. It is still bleeding. I asked for only around his eyes to be trimmed, and they shave everything except his ears and lower beard (he’s a Goldendoodle), which, when done properly, is a cute haircut, but not at all what I asked for.

He was very itchy and broke out in a rash. We decided he might be having a reaction to the soap they used, so we went to give him an oatmeal bath. He refused to go into the bathroom. We had to drag him in. Prior to our visit to the groomer, he loved the bath. He would sit down in the tub and relax. We couldn’t get him to go near the tub. We ended up picking him up and putting him in the bathtub and fed him treats non-stop. He wouldn’t sit and he was terrified. I am so angry. I can’t even imagine what they did to my sweet dog to make him change so drastically. I feel terrible for dropping them off in that awful place. I will NEVER go back, and I highly recommend you don’t take your dog there!

I had been searching for a groomer since mine retired, one that was willing to help me with my rescue work. I have found them! The girls at bow wow are saints! I have been going to bow wow for about a year now, and they have never let me down. Sometimes rescues can be in pretty bad shape but the girls at bow wow always manage to clean them up nicely. The doggies always feel and look so much better. Thank you Bow Wow !! Thank you for helping keep my doggies looking their best in their journey to find new homes !!!

Since the new owners have taken over I visited this groomer four times. This last time they said "they used too large of a clip and they cut my dog on his leg. The cut is about 2 inches long. They did not call me to let me know. They called for me to pick my dog up and showed me the cut where they had glued the two sides of the cut together. It bled all the way home and is still bleeding. I have since taken him to the vet. He had 6 stitches. I only got excuses. They did not offer to take him to the vet. This is a terrible place for anybody to take their dog. My dog is a 6 Lb. toy Poodle. do not want to give them any stars but I have to.
