The University of California, also known as UCLA, has an enrollment of more than 26,900 undergraduate and over 11,500 graduate students. The university has a staff of nearly 4,000 teachers. Founded in 1919, it occupies approximately 400 acres of space. The University of California offers degree programs in humanities, social studies and life sciences. In addition, the university provides a range of sports activities, such as basketball, rowing, softball, soccer, golf, tennis and cross-country.
