I haven't tried too many NY style Pizza restaurants in Los Angeles, though I have been to NY in the past and tried pizza there. It's hard to fully replicate the taste and experience of a NYC pizza, but Lamonica's might very well be the closest in LA, according to feedback from many east coast customers. I visited here the first time about a month ago, and I was very impressed with the pizza. I got a full pie with half pepperoni and, of course, half cheese. The imported NY dough was spot on in taste, cripsy yet soft and flavorful. The cheese on the pizza was fantastic. And they even have real parmesan cheese, not the packaged ones used in many pizzerias. To end it off, I got the nutella knot (think garlic knot, but with nutella), which is their famous dessert. It was mindblowing. A must get idea.

If you are in the Westwood area, then Lamonica's is the place to go for great pizza. Even the ambience is a loving homage to NYC (if you visit, you'll see what I'm talking about). I made a YouTube video of my visit here, which you can see on my channel called Rockstar Eater.

There are plenty of Pizza parlors in the area but this is the one I always head for. Lamonica's New York Pizza uses fresh ingredients, pizza is properly prepared and a great value for the price. Best customer service I have had in a while. Will definitely be back for more, soon.
