Wedding Gift Ideas for a Second Marriage
Buy a thoughtful present for a friend who is getting remarried

Many people wonder what type of gift they should give when a loved one or friend is getting married for the second time. The bride and groom to be probably already have all the linens, china and barware that they need, so you're going to have to get creative with your gift idea. If the couple registers, pick something from the registry, but if they don't register, get them something personal and meaningful.
What should you give a couple who already have all the stuff they need? Give them an experience they can share together. Consider their personalities when you pick this type of gift. If the bride and groom love to go to the movies on Friday nights, give them a gift certificate for a couple of free movies. Give Italian cooking lessons to a couple who enjoy cooking together. This type of gift is thoughtful, and the couple will get to enjoy each other's company when they use your gift.
Donations and Charities
Many couples getting married for a second time ask their friends and family to make a donation in their name to a charity of their choice. If they haven't selected a charity, you can pick one according to their interests. For example, if they have two pets that they've adopted from a local shelter, give a donation to that shelter. If they spend one Saturday each month volunteering at their local library, make a donation there. Just place the certificate or letter from the organization in a card and write a personal note.
Are the bride and groom going on a romantic honeymoon after the wedding? Give them something related to the honeymoon. You could pay for them to have a scuba diving lesson or give them a gift certificate to a nice restaurant. Call the hotel where they'll be staying to get suggestions. Another nice idea is to pay for them to have a bottle of champagne and a personal note from you waiting in their room when they arrive. If the hotel has a spa, consider purchasing a couple's massage for them. They'll love being pampered and will never forget your thoughtfulness.
If you're a close friend or family member, you could tell the couple that you would like to help them make their wedding more special and get them a wedding-related item. Think about purchasing their wedding cake, champagne flutes or covering the cost of the centerpieces. This way, instead of giving them an item that they won't use or already have, you're contributing to their enjoyment of their wedding day.
