How to Decorate for a Wedding With Twinkle Lights

Adding twinkle lights to the walls and ceiling fixtures at your wedding can create the magical, picture-perfect ambience you've been dreaming of. Twinkle lights can be hung in a variety of ways, and the setting can be further embellished with matching candles and votives. You may decide to choose several different colors of lights to match your theme or stick with a more traditional theme of gold and silver lights for the wedding.

Step 1:

String twinkle lights on trees and bushes if your wedding is taking place outdoors. If the wedding events are taking place indoors, string twinkle lights on a couple of trees and bushes near the doorway of the wedding reception space. In the absence of trees or bushes near the reception entrance, you can place a large potted plant, tree or artificial bushes around the entrance and decorate these with twinkle lights.

Step 2:

Light up your tables with twinkle lights. Place twinkle lights underneath a table to make the tablecloth glow. You can enhance the glittering effect of the twinkle lights by adding a set of can lights underneath the table.

Step 3:

Mimic the nightsky by hanging twinkle lights straight across or cascading down the backdrop where the bride and groom will be sitting with their guests.

Step 4:

Weave twinkle lights into the trellises of a gazebo, screens and archways used at the wedding venue to create a fairytale setting. Strings of gold and silver twinkle lights will make these pieces of decor stand out when the room lights are dimmed. If the wedding is taking place outdoors in the evening, the twinkle lights will help to create a silhouette of the archways, gazebo and other decor.

Step 5:

Complement the fairytale feeling by placing candles and votives on tables, buffet stands and other pieces of furniture in the wedding space. This extra lighting will further enhance the twinkle lights and will also make any confetti and glitter decorations stand out more.
