As a bride to be, don't feel overwhelmed by the wide variety of flower choices you have. Bridal flower guides are available to help you learn more about the types, colors and meanings of wedding flowers.
Roses are consistently one of the most popular flowers brides choose for weddings. Roses, carnations and chrysanthemum poms are readily available year-round for the bride and her florist to work with.
You will find that certain flowers are only available seasonally, including lily of the valley, stephanotis, delphinium and iris. Speak with your florist about flowers you have your heart set on to learn if she can special-order them.
Orchids are one of the most beloved tropical flowers for a bride. Anthuriums, ginger, bird of paradise and heliconia are also beautiful tropicals that are available all year long.
For generations, brides have chosen gerbera daisies, calla lilies, peonies, sweet peas, gardenias, cymbidium or phalaenopsis orchids, roses and lilies for bridal bouquets and wedding arrangements. Gladiolas, chrysanthemums, carnations, stock, tulips and hydrangeas are excellent for large displays.
Brides choose silk flowers for a long-lasting, heirloom-quality bridal bouquet. Silk is available in most types and colors of flowers.

Don't just think about the flowers' colors, consider scale. Big venues require big floral arrangements that won't get lost in the space. If you want to save money, look to large blooms that fill out a centerpiece and often cost less than two or three smaller flowers that equal its size.
