I'm Tara Wilson, designer for Tara Wilson Events. And today we're going to talk about decor ideas for backyard weddings. Backyard weddings can be really fun. They can be casual or they can be upscale. It all depends on how you decorate. Some key elements that you certainly want to think about when you're having a backyard wedding is your electrical needs. Make sure that you have plenty of lighting especially if your event is taking place at night. It's very easy for guests to slip and fall so you want to make sure that it's lit well. Along those lines, be thinking about how you can incorporate lanterns into your backyard wedding. Or a overhead lighting is also appropriate. Stringing those items between trees is certainly something that you can do. Another thing to consider when having a backyard wedding is bringing your indoor furniture outdoors. It certainly makes your event elegant and it's a unique design. Think about bringing out chairs, couches, tables, coffee tables, things that you would normally find in your home. Bring them outside, it makes it special and unique. Other items that you might want to think about when you're planning a backyard wedding is using glass versus using metal or plastic. Certainly glass is much more elegant. But if you're concerned about those items getting lost or even getting damaged then you might want to consider using things that will withstand being dropped on the ground or perhaps misplaced. Those are some things you definitely want to consider when planning a backyard wedding. Also, you might want to consider what you're going to do when the evening's over. Are you going to do a send off? Sparklers are wonderful at backyard weddings, so are sky lanterns.
