Color Combos for Every Season
The right color choices will fit the setting and help your wedding stand out
By Tiesha Whatley
When a bride pictures her wedding, she sees the color and decor in vivid imagery. The secret to having the perfect color combination is in choosing colors that are complemented by the season in which the wedding takes place. There is nothing more nearly perfect than deep, rich colors against a fall backdrop or cool, crisp whites and blues in a winter wonderland. The right color combination for the season will make the wedding magical and memorable.
Spring
Soft, pastel and vibrant shades hold sway in spring weddings. Choose among baby pink, pale blue, mint green, yellow, lavender, turquoise and hot pink for your spring wedding color combination.
Summer
Summer wedding colors can range from warm hues that are reminiscent of tropical weather or cool colors for a refreshing break from the hot weather. For color combinations, choose all warm colors (vibrant red, sunset orange, dusky purple, coral, hot pink and gold), all cool colors (Tiffany blue, ocean blue, sandy white, tropical green, light lavender and silver) or a combination of the two.
Fall
Fall is a time of harvest and change, so stick with bold colors that feel natural for the season. For a fall wedding color combination, choose two or three of the following colors: chocolate brown, sunflower yellow, wasabi green, pumpkin orange, deep eggplant purple, metallic gold or copper, cream, burgundy and olive green.
Winter
For your winter wedding, embrace the colors of the cold winter landscapes outside paired with cool metal. White, light blue, winter green and ivory work well with silver, copper or gold.
Destination Wedding Colors
If you're having a beach wedding in a tropical location during the winter months, consider using warm summer colors to complement the environment.
