Hi, I'm Albert McDonald with Overeducated Painters. I'm here to talk to you about how to properly paint inside a house. Now, one of the biggest things that is to take your time. Prep properly, protect things properly, simple little tips. They could make the difference between a good paint job and a bad paint job. Or, a mess and no mess. Number one, drop cloths. Don't use your old bedsheets. OK, one little drop of paint there is going to fall right through, and it's going to you know, stain your carpet, damage your floors. Use nice, quality, thick drop cloths. Hopefully with rubber backings behind them so that way it protects things. Tape. Now, professionals, we don't do a lot of taping, but when we do, we're taping to protect your floors, or your base trim if we're not going to be painting it. OK, we don't tape all the way around the door frames, and things like that, because we have proper control with our brushes. We don't need to do those things. So, but taping is wonderful. Got to do it. As you can see here, watch out for the live electrical wires. Right now we're following up behind electrician, so we're turning off the electricity when we're working around this. But normally, we do always take the plates off, that makes a big difference. You can always see that. That touch of detail that you add by removing the plates and putting them back. It only takes a few minutes, but if definitely adds up. And then of course, ladders. Right now, we're in a really large, tall room that could use scaffolding or ladders to get it done right. And those are the things that you need when you have you know, to have done by a professional. Big, tall rooms. Very tough. Very expensive for you to tackle, because you're going to have to go out and buy new sets of ladders. And then you're not going to be familiar with edging out at twenty-four feet up in the air. That's what we do. We edge it nice and detailed, then come back and roll, doing quality, detailed work is the only way to go, and that's what professionals do. So again, I'm Albert McDonald with Overeducated Painters, talking about how to properly paint inside a house.
