Hi, my name is John Galbraith, and today we're going to be talking about a few tips on how to keep your house safe. One thing to look for, as far as safety goes, is a circuit breaker that keeps tripping. That is, a circuit breaker is a protection, of course, against overheating of a wire and then, of fire and most, most residential fires are cause by electrical problems. So, if a circuit breaker keeps tripping, that should not be used as a switch just like a household light switch. It needs to be replaced by a licensed electrician, which is not usually very expensive, and is certainly a very good safe thing to do. Another safety thing to look for is the supply lines to your water heater. These are on top of the water heater, and there's usually a flexible pipe that goes from the supply to the top of the water heater to feed it. Those should be in good shape because there's a pressure involved, and if you go on vacation or away for a long weekend, they could rapture and cause a flood. So, it's not a very expensive thing to just simply look at those and see if there's any green around them, which is usually a sign of leakage, or if there's a, if there's in fact any moisture there that shouldn't be there. If they don't look like they're safe, simply have a plumber replace them. It's a very simple thing to do, and I would recommend stainless steel, braided supply lines for the water heater, and they can be purchased just about anywhere. This is John Galbraith, and we've been talking about safety around the house.
