View TranscriptHi, I'm Albert McDonald with Overeducated Painters, here to talk to you about picking colors for your living room. A lot of people are daunted by the task of, "What am I going to put in here?" "What, what's going to look good?" "What do I want to see?" "What do?", cause I'm going to be living with this for the next for years; if not 'till you sell your home. And those are very important questions. Ones that are very helpful to have a professional to help you choose. But, one of our secret tricks is the fanda. Okay, this as you can see has, oh, almost two thousand paint colors in it. So it's a great starting point. And each manufacturer has slightly different colors. So we actually; a, a good painter's going to carry around four or five of these so we can help get the right color for you. Now as you can see here, this room, there's two major focal points. You got the painting and you got this wonderful wood behind me. So you need to pick a color that goes well with both because they had a little; you know; this, this painting is quite expensive, so you don't want it clashing with the walls. So you even off and want to accentuate it. Like when I would start to help pick out a color; I would, might match one of these colors exactly for starting point and then pick that, like we got a little green here and then say, "Okay, does this green go nice with this wood?", and then you move around the room in taking; you know; to take a look and see if it works. Then one of the most important things that us professionals have to do is do a test sample for you when you're picking a color that that's specific. We put it on a board so you can move it on the room because all the way around the room, there's different colors. It's light beige here, dark beige there; you might even see some, a little hint of pink over there. All with the same colors that was painted on the walls. So you need to move it around; see how things look. As you know, bringing a professional in is a wonderful choice to make because we can help you pick colors. You know, we, we work with designers day in and day out and they're wonderful at helping out picking the colors for your room. I'm Albert McDonald with Overeducated Painters, talking to you about tips to help you pick colors in your living room.
