Seacoast Medical Center opened as an outpatient facility in October of 2000. For more than 10 years, it has been providing comprehensive imaging and diagnostic services, outpatient surgery services, rehabilitation programs, cardiac rehab, and emergency care.

In 2004, a certificate of need was filed and that same spirit of community partnership was evident when work began to bring inpatient beds to Seacoast Medical Center. It would take several more years of petitioning before construction could begin in 2009. On July 11, 2011, Seacoast Medical Center opened its doors as a 50-bed hospital. Designed with the ideal healthcare experience in mind, the new inpatient addition consisted of 32 medical/surgical beds, a 10-bed progressive care unit and an 8-bed intensive care unit.

To keep pace with the changing needs of its growing communities, Seacoast Medical Center had to look toward the future with a strong vision of healthcare. In late 2011, the board of commissioners for Loris Community Hospital District unanimously made the decision to enter into a partnership with McLeod Health. This partnership represented a new beginning for two long-time, highly respected healthcare organizations that share a similar mission and philosophy of care. On January 1, 2012, Seacoast Medical Center unveiled its new name, McLeod Seacoast.

I had a cat scan performed recently at Seacoast. I can't express enough how pleased I was with the entire experience. The two technicians attending to me were very professional and courteous! Had they been servers for me in a restaurant, I would have left them a very nice gratuity that would have been well deserved!!

You'd be hard pressed to find decent medical in SC, McLeod is no exception. Physicians are incompetent and rude. Carmen (Anesthesia) was arguing with a staff member just before my surgery. She threw the mask in my face twice and said, "Go to sleep." Unbelievably unprofessional and unethical. If you're considering relocating to SC, think twice.

I wish that I could do less than 1 star!!! My father was recently in the ICU at Seacoast for a few days and while he was there having test done his front tooth was knocked out by the nurse/doctor. My parents were told that someone would contact them about getting it fixed. He was released last week after they never even figured out what was wrong, and then was contacted today to inform them that the hospital would not be fixing his tooth. My mother said that she would get a lawyer and the guy said, "Do what you got to do!" So if your looking for great and caring service for you or your loved one, DON'T GO TO MCLEOD SEACOAST ON HWY 9 IN LITTLE RIVER SC!!!!!

Worst service ever, Dr. Ellaser made me feel as if he wasn't even interested in what I had going on. I'll never go back or nor will I recommending anyone to go there!

Dr Carr, Dr D Smith, and all staff during my two visits there over the last two months: You are wonderful. Thank you so much for the care and empathy you had for me and my situation. True 5 star hospital because of people like you.
