I am surprised by the negative reviews for this store. I had a great experience here and the selection of fish is above and beyond what you will find at the other stores. The owners were extremely helpful and nice. I was upset that I hadn't found it earlier and will only go there from now on. As for the bad reviews about taking back sick or dead animals, they have a sign on the counter that clearly states there will be no refunds for live animals and that they offer in store credit instead. I did notice most of the bad reviews were all done on the same day so I suspect they are the same person who had one bad experience. I loved this store and will go back for sure.

My friends and I were browsing around Animal House for about ten minutes before the owner/man started yelling at his wife to 'Get them out of there, they've been in here for far too long!' The family members were all spread out throughout the store and glaring at us, treating us like we were shoplifters. It's so odd that a small business would treat their customers like this, customers who want to give them money! I've been in here on two other separate occasions and they've always acted very unprofessional and mean. NEVER go to this store! I could not believe the way the employees treated me and my friends. Not to mention the obvious animal abuse that goes on in this place. Their birds were way too crowded, I saw a dead hamster, and many of the reptiles had no water - one of the poor ball pythons was curled up in its bone-dry water dish, obviously dehydrated. This is a despicable excuse for a 'mom-n-pop' store, and I sincerely hope that they get shut down. This business engages in both animal and customer abuse, and they have no respect for anything or anyone. Absolutely disgusting.

Experience: I'm an experienced reptile and tarantula keeper, I've worked at two zoos, I'm a member of some reptile societies, and I'm good friends with some of the top herpetologists in the country. I know what I'm talking about, and I'm telling you: This store is a disgrace. I'm definitely contacting ASPCA, BBB, Herald Leader, Humane Society, and anyone else who might be able to take these jerks down.

I came here after being thrown out by this psycho(the guy) earlier this evening. I figured I would look up reviews on the place because I consider myself to be a good person and felt violated. I am into aquariums pretty heavy and love going to pet stores to browse and communicate with like minded people. I entered the shop at a very busy time, so I figured I would hang back to wait for the business to die down. While browsing I couldn't help but notice the sons of the establishment staring me down as if I am a thief. INCREDIBLE!

My wife walks in so I figured since she got tired of waiting and came on in I would check out their bird selection because she has a cockatiel. After I checked out the bird selection I walked back towards the plants. He stopped me and asked if I needed help I replied "no not yet" he then said "find what you are looking for and leave" I then questioned him as to what his problem was and he responded with a bunch of insults and threatened to call the police on me. I laughed and said "Is this how you run your business?" He said "I'll show you how I run this business." He then yelled towards the front "call the police" As I walked out I was smiling and glanced over at his wife and she just smiled and put her head down then said "Hes really stressed out today"
Can we get this guy some meds? He isn't very far from The Ridge Mental Health Facility. I think it's for an assessment.

nice place a lot of stuff in here. The only place that I've found to buy mice, fast service and decent pricing

Customer service is awful. Prices are high. The store smells. They follow you as you shop around the store, which makes you really uncomfortable.

worst pet store I've ever been to. They'll sell you sick or even dead animals and refuse to remedy the situation, blaming you for their poor poor animal care. Please don't support this awful business.

Worst customer experience ever. She sold us a dead hermit crab and then refused to replace it when we went back an hour later. They use offensive language, and the animal conditions were dreadfully abysmal. Take your business far away from this place. Worst pet store I've ever encountered.

It is a small mom &pop store and the owners are a little bit nutty. However, their selection of freshwater fish is unbelievable. All the tanks are prestine. I bought a pair of german blue rams from here and they are by far the prettiest fish in my tank. The owners are very knowledgeable and Nice if you greet them and ask them for help. it's their livelihood here people they can follow you around because they don't have a corporate office to reimburse if something is stolen. I will only shop for fish and live plants here for my freshwater tanks!
