The Territorial Capital Museum is an award-winning historic site chronicling the history of Lecompton from the tumultuous, controversial territorial days to the delightfully quaint present. Housed in the stone Lane University building, where President Eisenhower's parents met and married, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Lane University was built on the foundation of the started, but not completed, state capitol building.
