Horrible experience. Plumber was at house 4 times and in all those visits only capped 2 pipes and opened the slab. Constant run around. Gave estimate of $1200. I asked them on phone for the total amount I owed for all work he actually finished and received amount of $250, which I paid that day by credit. Then week later I get a surprise bill for additional $85, which I paid reluctantly because I didn't want bad credit due to them. Gave an estimate of $1200 to finish the job. I called another plumber who did everything we needed and only charged $250 for it and everything works well now. No thanks to Don's. They people will rip you off.

I moved to Hernando Sept 2011 and found the septic was backing up into the shower . I called Don's and received a quick response .The man that came checked the pipes under the house and listened for the uptake pump . the pump was not running . I was told that I would have to have all the pipes replaced , that they were no good . They would have to bring in equipment and dig the old pipes up at a cost to me of $4000. Being a newly widowed , new home owner I agreed that if it was needed please get it done soon . I was told 3 days they would be there , good I could handle that , he opened the overflow valve so that it wouldn't back up any longer . I talked to my Dad about it and he suggested I call Roto - Rooter that they had worked on it previously , so I called Don's to postpone and called Roto - Rooter They came right out , dug up the uplift pump area pulled the cover off and found a huge root ball had grown into the pump works . They removed the roots and fixed the pump and blown wiring . They then checked the pipes from the house to the pump , they would need replacing ok . They then checked the pipes under the house and found that not only did I NOT need new plumbing but that whom ever installed them put in commercial grade pipes that would outlast me . I called Don's and cancelled the appointment entirely was rudely told that it was too late I had already agreed to have the work done . I informed the person on the phone that if they showed up I would call the police to assist them off my property . I was then told that I had to pay for the initial Visit , which I had planned to anyway , They did come out after all . Never did get that bill and will never call Don's again and highly suggest if you have a problem call Roto - Rooter first . I don't care how long they have been in business don't trust them if you're new to the area and inexperienced in what you need done . always get a second opinion . Sincerely Mary Mead
