My son Joaquin has been attending P2L for over a year now. I wouldn't want my son to be anywhere else, he is safe & loves going to school. The teachers are awesome & especially Tammy the Director, if I ever have any type of questions or concerns she is available & addresses the situation. My concern with putting my son into daycare was his Chronic Asthma, I am confident that P2L can handle his illness & have no worries, they notify me immediately if they have any concerns. P2L is byfar the cleanest daycare facility I have ever been too, the meals which the kids are served are nutritious and fill them up and I NEVER see kids running around with booger noses.

If your looking for an affordable, awesome, safe, clean daycare with EXCELLENT staff you've found the one.

Best daycare around!!!

My children have attended this facility since approximately July 2009. They have been in the infant class all the way up to 5 years. If any issues do arise (which is inevitable in any business), the directors correct the problem immediately, always keeping the childrens' safety & happiness their first priority. Tammy (director) and Rachel (assistant-director) are phenomenal, and know first-hand how to run a childcare facility. They hire wonderful teachers and make sure these teachers are on task. Only the best teachers continue to work at this facility, and my children have loved them all. I am also extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the center, and the curriculum that is taught to the children. (This shows in their state inspection results!) I have HIGHLY recommended this daycare to my friends & family, and will continue to do so. Great job to all the employees of Play2Learn, I'm extremely grateful for your hard work & caring for our children.

Horrible daycare do not take y...

Horrible daycare do not take your child here!!! They were supposed to pick up my 1st grader from school on his first day of school, and they did not do this, they said they did not know it was an early out, then when they were called by the school they never went to pick up my child!! I called them trying to talk to them about the issue the scheduled me a time to meet with them then they canceled 15 mins before the scheduled time and never tried to reschedule. I have tried to handle this with them they are not willing to work with you, they are money driven and do not care about your child. Also they do not ID when someone goes to pick up your child that has never been there before. They are horrible.. I will never recommend this daycare to anyone!! They do not hold up there end of the contract but expect the parents to! Horrible place

I would like to clarify somethings with Brianne. She knew the Friday before school started that the first day was an early out day. We looked on the website for Davis County and there was nothing about early outs. If Brianne knew the friday before that school was out early she should have let her daycare know. She never said a word. We have a security system and parents have to know the code, the only reason her husbands ID was not asked for is because he had the door code and was wearing a badge with his picture around his neck and showed it at the front desk. The director, myself, had to cancel the appt and called her cell phone 45 mins before the appt because I had an emergency and had to go to the police station, I left her a message explaining this. Brianne did not call the center back and left for out of town. We would never leave a child at school. The parents do have some responsibility to notify us of the child's change in schedule. This includes changes in their school schedule. We check the Davis web site every morning and if Davis doesn't post an early out we rely on parents to keep us informed. We are very sorry that Brianne is so unforgiving of this but I really feel she is just a very angry person. At Play2Learn Academy there is nothing more important than the safety and welfare of the children left in our care.

I can tell you for a fact that this is the best daycares that i have worked for. The owners are great and they have the best director. The cook is great. she make the best food. Now for the teachers the babyroom they are great. they do art with the kids. the 2's and 3's classroom the teachers are great. they have a circletime folder the kids are leraning colors, shapes, numbers and the abc's. now to the 4's and older the teacher in there is so good with them she has all different kinds of centers. i loved working there. i miss all of them so much. i would recomend this daycare center.

I have been taking my children...

I have been taking my children to Play 2 Learn Academy for 4 months. I have had my children in several different daycares over their life spans (about 6-7), as my family has moved a number of times or had major changes in our situation. I have seen some horrible daycares I would never put my kids in and I have had my children in excellent daycares, including several at home daycares and several centers. Play 2 Learn has been a good daycare for my children. My children tell me everything that happens and I do not always pick them up at the same time. They enjoy their teachers, they do crafts, they have meals that are fairly similar to what my son gets at school, and they play outside. No daycare is perfect. I will admit there are times when I may have done something a little different than they have, but that has been more of an opinion issue than a safety or major concern issue. I have found that happens anywhere you take your children to. Overall, Play 2 Learn has been doing a good job with my kids. My kids are happy, they are having fun, and they are learning. The staff has always been nice to me and they have been willing to work with me. I appreciate that.

Too Funny!

You think that all this negative feedback is only from me lol. Like you stated before "We have carefully reviewed and analyzed all of the comments that have been placed on this comment page. We recognize that some of the allegations bare some truth" (I am quoting you) how could my feedback be considered SLANDER if it is true. I will admit that I have a couple other comments on this board and note that you can only leave one comment on one handle. You know that I am not the only one making negative comments on this board, it is not my fault that the previous person in charge left a lot of people unhappy.

Please don't act like you never got cited....That was not always the case, you weren't always in good standing....the sad thing with licensing is that if you prove to them you fixed the problem then they will take the citation off your record. The reason they took off the citation about a teacher who yelled at children is because she quit yet you had almost the whole staff complain about her months prior to the citation. That is one of the reason you lost some of your teachers, they couldn't take working with that teacher. We couldn't take the fact that you allowed certain teachers to do whatever they wanted because you and your wife couldn't handle firing just one employee. I did work there and I am not a disgruntle employee at all, I just care about the kids that attend Play 2 Learn, I really hope you straighten out the daycare and wish you the best! As far as never bringing anything to your attention..that was not the case, I know some of the teachers including me has told you about these issues and you ignored them, forgot them and just plain didn't care.

P.S. If you could delete this comment board you would have done it a long time ago.....when the first bad rating was posted. Don't act like know one knows you guys really tried to but can't.

Once again as it was mentioned before, we have an open door policy. We have made major improvements and changes. We did get cited before and all of the details are available if you contact licensing. Obviously you are abusing this blog and ironically the only negative feedback is coming from you. It doesn’t make a difference if you change your handle, your bitter signature is apparent in all of your postings. I again urge you to come in and revisit our center to grant us an opportunity to show you that you have no reason to slander Play2Learn’s reputation. Sincerely, Steven 801-546-1501

Ok...so you are new...

You seriously don't know what went on in that daycare before you so how can you even share your opinion. I worked there and it was horrible Lana was a nut case and maybe it's better now that she isn't the owner. Hummm...new preschool program yeah they have been telling the parents about that for over a year...that is a joke. I STILL WOULD WANT TO WARN ALL PARENTS OF THIS PLACE...MAKE SURE YOU REALLY CHECK OUT THE TEACHERS BECAUSE THEY PUT ON A REALLY GREAT SHOW WHEN YOU WALK IN......

This center is under new managment and staff. The center has an open door policy so I encourage anyone come and take a tour or if you are a parent come in and see what your child is doing during the day. The preschool program started on September 2nd and we have a curriculum for the younger classrooms as well. All the children are learning so much and they are hitting their developmental milestones with the curriculum that is being use. As the director I can not comment on things that happened before I was there, but I know how the center is doing now. I would love for the people that are interested in the center to come and see what we have to offer and make their own opionion about this awesome center in Layton. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to meeting you someday.

New Director

I am the new director at Play 2 Learn Academy, and I want to take the time to clear things up. There are some reviews out there that about this place that are not true. The teachers are very good with the children and the children are doing well. The center is a small center so I am able to hear and see everything that is going on and the teachers are doing a great job in their classrooms. My son has been there and loves it !!!

The owners are very caring and wants what is best for the children. I would love for anyone to come and take a tour of the daycare and make up their own mind.

We are starting a new preschool class in September, so the children are ready to start school next year. The younger class has things to do that will help them with their development.

Dear Parent This message is from Play2Learn Academy’s new and improved administration. We have carefully reviewed and analyzed all of the comments that have been placed on this comment page. We recognize that some of the allegations bare some truth and we were also concerned why these issues weren’t brought to our attention, but just recklessly placed on this page. We had an option to close this comment page and pretend that this hasn’t happen, but we decided that we have nothing to hide and we are going to continue monitoring your comments. We have established our center to serve our clients with best possible service we could offer. This page has helped us to point out some of the issues that we had, and we have worked extremely hard to address them. We also like to address that there is a lot of messages that are driven by disgruntle motive, which is based on misinformation and/or no grounds. We are proud of our center and welcome anyone to tour the facility and/or call licensing to confirm that we are in good standings. Your Choice...you really have no clue...

You have no clue what you are talking about....let me get this straight I am not upset that I don't work there anymore...get it straight I QUIT I WASN'T FIRED. I make more money and I am happier where I work but I just want the kids there to be safe, if you all were doing your job right I wouldn't have parents still calling me complaining about how Play 2 Learn is run. LETS SEE DIDN'T PLAY 2 LEARN JUST GET CITATIONS MORE THEN A FEW TIMES LATELY. Yeah you all are doing your job so well.. I left Play 2 Learn because of all the drama with the OWNER AND YES LANA DOES CARE WHAT IS SAID ABOUT HER....She cares what is said on here, I worked there long enough to know what goes on there....I don't want to create DRAMA I just want parents to know how this center really is....MOST OF THESE REVIEWS AREN'T FROM ONLY EX TEACHER.....I am letting all my friends, family and Air Force parents know that this day care is a joke. C.P. Don't sit there trying to act like you know me......

Great Day care

My child has been going here for several months now and the teachers are great. They really care about his well being as well as give him a fun, yet educational enviroment. The staff there are more then willing to help me whenever I have a concern or question. I would recommend this daycare in a heartbeat to any parent concerned about finding a proper daycare for their child. Thank you for your time in reading my review. i don't know what all these negative comments are but I have seen no signs of any of these accusations.

I would just like to say all those bad reviews are from former employees that have nothing better to do than sit on the computer all day and write drama! That's why they no longer work at the center they caused so much drama! i am a former empolyee also and i had fun working at this center the problem was, those teachers who i hear no longer work there caused so much drama and made so many things up! honeslty they are writing these reviews to think they are getting back at lana! Sorry girls lana really doesn't care what your opinon is! She also no longer works there! the new girls at play 2 learn work very hard and trying there best to help parents with whatever needs they can! Also if you look at any other centers yellow pages you will not see any reviews at all! that right there shows me the girls just want to create some drama! Also if you look the dates they are all on the same days so you know one ex teacher got all her old buddies to write something horrible. well girls what ever makes you happy! Drama is what you are and that's all you'll ever be. i would hope that if you were smart you would go check out the center yourself and ont base your opinion on what an ex teachers has to say! thanks C.P

From Former Director/Owner

Dear Ladies and Gentleman,

My name is Lana Lambson, I am the former Director/ Owner of "Play2Learn Academy". I am a highly educated person, who could give children a solid base to go into the future. The initial idea was to create a "High Quality" Center, which I did. Our curriculum was very powerful, as well as training for teachers.

I am no longer part of this business. I am not sure what "Play2Learn" turned into as of right now, but my ex-husband does his best in order to run it the way it was promised to our clients.

I would appreciate if my name will not be mentioned any longer. Steven and Yelena are the new owners now, please address your complaints to them. Sincerely, Lana

I GOT THIS FROM PLAY TO LEARNS...

I GOT THIS FROM PLAY TO LEARNS WEBSITE:

Our Programs

HIGH QUALITY DAY CARE CENTER (YEAH RIGHT)

-Four Domains

There are four distinctive domains of development for each child: Physical, social, emotional and cognitive. In our program we are using this principle to combine all domains under single integrated domain which stimulates their developmental process in one smooth arrangement. (SO FALSE, THEY DO NOTHING BUT LET THE CHILDREN RUN AROUND SCREAMING AND HITTING EACH OTHER)

-Groundwork for transition

Day-to-day activities include carefully designed Curriculum include interactive process, meaningful experiences, supportive context, and independence. Nurturing environment and relationships during these interactions help kids with any further transitional processes. They will graduate to first grade with out any fear of learning or being away from safety of their homes. (CURRICULUM! THERE NEVER WAS A CURRICULUM) (CHILDREN LEARN NOTHING FROM PLAY TO LEARN) (THEY CAN'T EVEN CONTROL PINK EYE AND THE VIRUSES THAT SEEM TO BE GOING AROUND THAT DAYCARE TO FREQUENTLY)

- Structured Programs

Center is arranged so children can play joyfully with each other and participate in a structured curriculum and while closely supervised experience their growing independence by hanging up their own coats, putting dishes in the dishwasher or putting away art materials. We are rotating programs designed to respond to the stages of physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth and behavior. (STRUCTURED PROGRAMS THEY CAN'T EVEN KEEP GREAT TEACHERS BECAUSE THE OWNER IS INSANE! SHE REALLY HAS PROBLEMS AND CAN'T HIDE THEM TO WELL. EMOTIONAL, SOCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL GROWTH THEY DAMAGE MORE THEN IMPROVE!!!!!) (CHILDREN PLAY JOYFULLY IN THERE MESSED UP CLASSROOMS AND THE DIRTY OLD SMALL PLAYSET)

mommyfiedX2...your so right!

Play 2 Learn is a bad daycare!!!!!!!!! It may look all good from the outside but it is run by selfish greedy people who don't care about the kids they are suppose to be responsible for. The owners Steve/Lana promise you so much but deliver nothing. They talk a good game! They pretend to care but really don't they hire anyone off the street and don't even take the time to properly train new employees let alone they have a 19 year old director. It's simply ridiculous and sad that some parents are being trick into leaving their kids in that awful and sad place.

Beware!!!

Be very careful of who cares for your children, this is a scary place for you child(ren) to be all day. My complaints are the same as everyone else and I want parents that haven't been fooled by Lana and her husband to know that they put on a good show but it's all fake. Be very very careful about who cares for you little ones and stay far away from this place.
