If I could give a zero star, I would have. I called C.J. Frank to see how much their Illinois state license plate per-sticker fee was. I was told $7.50 apiece even though their website said $6.00. When I asked her why it's now $7.50, she said the Sec of State raised the max fee she could legally charge per sticker to $7.50 and she raised it to that maximum immediately but just hadn't updated her website yet. Then she seemed to realize what she'd said to me and started back-pedalling, changing her story by saying the Secretary of State didn't increase how much she could charge US, the state increased what they charge HER per sticker to $7.50. I don't like being lied to. I said goodbye and went on the Sec of State website. I renewed both my license plates online for a fee of $2.25 each and not the $7.50 apiece fee C.J. Frank now charges. When I called back and told her this, she admitted she'd 'misspoken' about the Sec of State charging HER more. She told me she'd raised the fee because her monthly bills are increasing so she needs to make more money. From us, I can only assume. Well, not from me. My bills are going up too and I saved $11.50 today just by not buying my license plate stickers from C.J. Frank. If you want to pay C.J. Frank literally 330 percent more in fees than you would pay by simply buying your state stickers right from the Secretary of State online, that's your business but I'm never going back to C.J. Frank again.



(UPDATE) - I ordered both of my license plate stickers on the Secretary of State's website on 9/18/2012. They both arrived in my mailbox on 9-22-2012. It don't get much better than that!
