I read the reviews here and was not too keen on going to Plato's Closet. But I have to say I had a different experience with this store. Lot of people shopping and selling their clothes - v.busy! I sold 2 bags of clothes and was very happy with the process. I brought clean, cool, brands I had from a few months ago and they asked me to bring more! I got cash on the spot so much better than throwing them away. I have heard about new ownership and management making some good changes. Fave!

Terrible! Avoid at all costs!

I drove 30 minutes to get to the store and waited an hour for my clothes to be looked at. I called and was told my clothes were ready, however, when I arrived at the store I was told I had to wait another 30 minutes.

The employee I dealt with was extremely unprofessional. She threw my clothes into my bags without folding them. She wanted to offer me $25 for a bin filled with brand name jeans and shirts with the tags still on them. I understand that it is a business and they need to make a profit, but the employee could not even offer an explanation as what the items were being priced at. I then asked why she threw my clothes into the bag in a crumbled mess when I decided to know accept the offer. She rolled her eyes at me, did not respond and walked away. I asked to see the store manager and she told me they weren't there. Another employee asked if they could help me, so I once again asked to see the store manager. This employee did try to get the manager for me, however the rude employee I had just dealt with was I suppose trying to fill the manager in on the situation. I was made to wait 10 minutes before the manager would come over.

I was informed by the "manager" that she was the store owner. I explained the situation to her. She informed me that it is common practice for the store to not fold the clothes as they assess them. She wanted to see my clothes to once again assess them. I explained to her that I did not want to do business with her store and wound prefer to donate the clothes. The issue that was more important was how ignorant her employee was. Her response was the employee was her daughter! She clearly did not care how her daughter treats he customers. As a professional in the business world, I have no idea how this store can remain open with how disrespectful and rude the owner and "employees" are. I will never offer my business to this store again and will make sure to spread the word.

Do not waste your time. Donate your clothes instead. Avoid dealing with rude, ignorant and unprofessional individuals.

no go on plato's

I would not recommend plato's to any of my friends. Snobby, rude and obnoxious(including the older woman who I believe is the owner) They're not helpful and clearly not well educated on what's fashionable(especially in the Bucks area) If you have a problem, be prepared to deal with someone who is forced to speak with you due to the owner's cowerdess, this place is a JOKE! Oh and if you are selling your clothes, they probably won't take them or under pay, they are supposed to give you 1/3 of what they sell for, do the math, and I suggest asking them for a detailed break down of how much you are recieving for your clothing.

p.s. I had an extremely pleasant experience at the Deptford New Jersey store!!!
